The goal of the kitchen crew is to provide delicious, fresh food in a comfortable and clean dining facility. We desire that campers leaving Frontier Ranch have had one of the best experiences of their lives. Here are a few of our expectations of the kitchen crew while serving at Frontier Ranch.
- Must be available from 1pm Friday - 3pm Sunday
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- A background check for anyone 18 years or older is required and will be sent upon completion of your registration.
- If you are under 18, your legal guardian(s) will be contacted to get their permission for you to attend.
- A joyful, cheerful and willing heart for serving the Lord through the assigned tasks. Some jobs are very visible at camp, others are behind the scenes, but all are critical to the effective running of the retreat and the maintenance of our facility.
- Each work crew member can expect to work 2 1⁄2 - 3 1⁄2 hours for each meal served. This will depend on the size of your group as well as the number of work crew.
- Upon arrival work crew will be assigned to serve tables, wash dishes, cook or work in the snack bar (if applicable).
- The work crew jobs given should remain constant throughout your stay. We would ask that work crew doesn’t rotate through different jobs. (Ex. cook the first meal, serve the second)
- Work crew members will be given “side jobs” to complete after their normal duties. These include but are not limited to: taking out trash; cleaning bathrooms; refilling centerpieces; vacuuming; sweeping; mopping; and assisting the snack bar if open.
- Dress Code requirements - Closed toed shoes Shirts with sleeves (No tank tops) Hair tied back or restrained if it lands on the front of the shoulders Modest Clothing that is not distracting or offensive to others. No ear buds or head phones while working.
- To insure that the campers experience is premium, we ask that campers are not asked to help the work crew bus tables or clean.
